Saves energy. It will not heat the light fixture. I also discarded the glass shield that shrouded the halogen bulb. Let's see if it will last longer than the halogen bulb it replaces.

I love these lights. They are very bright.

I bought the white light, 6000K bulbs and they are BRIGHT. I purchased them for a three-bulb fixture in my bathroom and truly, I should have gone with the 3000K warmer ones as my bathroom is now super bright! No speck of dust or stray hair can go unseen!

This Led bulb is just perfect and unlike the original bulb, is not a fire hazard as it does not get so hot.

I just installed these, so I can't speak to longevity, but they're quite bright and a good replacement for the energy-gobbling halogens I had previously.
