I got two of these bulbs for my tripod work lights while painting ceilings. They were very expensive compared to the 500 W halogen capsule bulbs, but the color, light output and brightness seem to be right on par with those super hot, energy wasting halogen bulbs that they replaced.

It is bulky so make sure your fixture has room for this big guy. I'm using this LED in a torch lamp that shines straight up which illuminates the ceiling and therefore the entire room. I prefer indirect lighting. Given that it lasts a long time like an LED should I will enjoy this product immensely.
